I have never written a review in the past but given my experience with Maui Diamond, I felt it was worthy. I have been diving for 30 years and have yet to experience the level of service and professionalism that Maui Divers provided. We dove with them for two days. The second day, the weather was terrible. We headed to Lanai to dive , but when we got there, we realized that the diving was not going to be good. Instead of heading back, the diverted to Molokini where the conditions were much better. By the time we got back to the dock, they had already refunded the difference in price. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the staff is attending to your every need. They did everything for us and, as far as they did with our actual dives, they were great. Once we got on the boat, David, our dive master was Airdropping the photos from the dive. We didn’t even ask for him to do this, he just did it. I highly recommend using them.

I had the good fortune to dive with this crew yesterday. They have their process of getting all the divers into a mix of rented and personal gear dialed in — it was one of the easiest I’ve ever experienced. The crew clearly loves doing this, they seemed to have just as much (if not more) fun as the customers. I will be diving with them every time I come to Maui.

The plan was to dive Lanai Cathedrals but with a storm coming through we it ended up not being safe (we were greeted by large two pods of bottle-nosed dolphins when we arrived 🤙).

We planned to head back to the harbor without a dive but they checked the live camera at Molokini crater and conditions looked good so we headed over, even after having made the hour long trip to cathedrals. Molokini conditions were good so we were able to get two epic dives in and I unexpectedly checked Molokini off by dive bucket list. There were whales nearby so we were serenaded by their beautiful songs while seeing gray reef sharks, octopus, crown of thorns sea stars, and countless endemic fish.

I had a cesarean for twins almost 12 months ago to the day and accidentally marked it on the medical questionnaire. I was multitasking with my twins by the pool and did not realize it would require a medical waiver. The dive shop actually called me the night before so I had time to get a doctor’s note and still make the dive. They truly went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience and even offered to lower my rate to a rider fee if I could not get cleared to dive.

Nick was our guide and his enthusiasm for the marine life was incredible. I have done quite a few dives and have never had an instructor share that level of excitement. His wife Beth was just as excited when we saw dolphins, even though I am sure she has seen them many times. It made the whole experience even better.

Captain Steve was a gentleman and ran a fantastic boat.

I would absolutely dive with this team again.

The Maui Diamond is an awesome boat, but second to the amazing crew! Captain Ben, Dave, David, Brian, Joe, and Logan are all top notch and gave us the best dive experience in our honeymoon. David was our dive master and he was phenomenal. Not to mention the THIRTY whales we counted who showed off all day! We truly had such a great experience and highly recommend this diving company, vessel, and crew if you want to dive on Maui! This was my second time with them and I will be choosing them again, and again, and again!

That's the main word that describes this dive outfit. I have been diving for 37 years, I grew up in South Florida and have experienced so many dive companies all over the world. The Maui Diamond Sea Sports staff, equipment, boat and experience is world class. This week was our third year and 6th trip with the Maui Diamond. You get broken into small guided dive groups, provided with detailed dive briefings, as well as all kinds of snack and drinks including delicious homemade banana bread(with or without nuts, they think of everything). Did I mention the price is totally "market", very fair reasonable pricing compared to other dives. The boat is big and extremely comfortable, the staff will set your equipment up if you like and put your personals in a large waterproof bin under your setup, a clean working head, 2 ladders with hot water spray off after dives. Our guide took amazing professional looking photos and air dropped them to us after dives making my GoPro useless lol. If you come at the right time of year the dives are just like a whale watching tour, you see so many whales on the trip to the dive sites
. I will say though we did do the whale watching tour with Maui Diamond and we had done one previous from the same harbor and I could easily say Maui Diamond did a much better job. Two main reasons is the boat is so roomy and not cramped with people and once again the staff is world class, so knowledgable about the area and very funny while keeping that same first class professionalism.
If you want the best diving and whale watching, look no where else, I saw a lot of the other boats out on our dives. They don't come close to the level of the Maui Diamond and its staff.

We just enjoyed several days of scuba diving with Maui Diamond Sea Sports. The crew was efficient, professional and lots of fun to dive with. The diving was beautiful, despite the uncertain weather forecast, and the whale watching on the way back to the harbor was amazing. We highly recommend this dive company and plan to return again as soon as we can.

Our trip to the Lanai cathedrals with Maui Diamond was the best boat scuba experience we've ever had! We initially had booked three excursions with them, but two were canceled due to boat maintenance and we rebooked with another company which was a subpar experience. The confirmation email was detailed with arrival instructions. The crew were extremely organized and friendly. The safety briefing took place before we even boarded. The dive briefings with the individual divemasters was detailed and they checked in with us every step of the way. There were ample snacks and refreshments, and they treated us to sandwiches on the way back as well. The captain even made a few small detours to watch whales on our way back to the harbor. Overall a fantastic experience!

Since 2006 I had been diving Maui with Lahaina Divers. This month was my first visit since their shop was lost in the fires and was a little apprehensive looking for a new dive boat to join. We booked online and when we met them at the boat yesterday morning were immediately impressed with a full, professional crew on a beautiful Newton 46 foot dive-special boat. Everyone on the crew was glad to be there and there were several repeat divers on our Molokini crater trip of 18. One couple had even been married on the boat. Crew was organized and had all the gear ready to go and set up our gear that we brought along with what we rented. They had a warm water shower on the boat which I have not experienced diving anywhere in my 20 years of diving the Hawaiian Islands. Snacks were plentiful and with good variety. The planned six hours for the 1/2 day from Maalaea harbor left plenty of time for whale watching before and after our dives (humpback viewing in the Maui channel is all but guaranteed October through April) Crew was in no rush and super fun and we will now be diving with Maui Diamond every time we return to Maui.

A very professional crew - went out for a 2 tank dive at Molokini Crater and nearby coral reef. The check-in process was easy. Love that we could do our waivers prior to arrival. Rental dive equipment was great. Michelle was our dive instructor; she was very positive, friendly, welcoming and assisted a diver when in need. I felt very comfortable diving with her and the Maui Diamond Crew. They changed out our tanks and kept our gear organized and dry. We were a little chilly and they hooked us up with some reusable heat packs which made us happy and warm. An extra perk was seeing whales on the way in and out of the harbor. Would dive with the Maui Dive crew again - Captain Ben, Michelle, David, & Nick! Would recommend to friends looking for a good diving crew!

We signed up for a two tank dive day at Molokini Crater. The boat crew and dive guides were professional, informative and friendly. The boat was nice with a protected space out of the wind. The dives were well-briefed beforehand and expertly guided. It was nice to have interesting features pointed out and identified. A hot rinse coming out of the water is very nice.

I can’t say enough good things about Maui Diamond Diving! This was an exceptional diving experience from start to finish.

The diving itself was incredible, and the boat was top of the line—spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and truly delivered top-notch service. You could tell right away that this is a highly professional operation that knows exactly what they’re doing.

We dove over two days, completing both boat dives and hitting four fantastic locations, including Lanai Cathedrals, Sharkfin Rock of Lanai, Mala Pier, and another great site based on conditions. Every dive felt thoughtfully planned and expertly executed.

The marine life was unreal. We saw whales, turtles, nudibranchs, rays, sharks, incredible coral formations, and fascinating underwater structures—plus an abundance of marine life on every single dive. The best part about the two tank dive trip I did was the warm water the captain hosed me down with after getting back on the boat. This is a full-service dive boat which means they will set up and break down all your gesr for you. This is the first Newton I have been on that has a clean, working marine head. The guides were very nice. They have a nice selection of chips and banana breads and n/a beverages.

Absolutely wonderful group of people. Did a two tank dive at the Molokini Crater and loved it. The whole crew and dive masters were knowledgeable and friendly, and the dive itself was great. Nothing but good things to say about this operation. Would highly recommend to anyone, no matter if you're a relatively new diver like myself, or an experienced diver. They also had a ton of snacks and drinks available for us during our surface interval. Plus, they stopped for some whale watching on the way back to the harbor which was a great bonus!

I cannot recommend Maui Diamond enough! I’ve worked with probably 10 outfitters over the years, and they are my favorite! I spent 2 days and 4 dives with them.
Right from the start Captain Ben is very friendly and through in all the safety measures and what to expect. The Dive guides I worked with, Earnie and Kelly, do an AMAZING job, briefing you throughly, checking equipment and making sure you are comfortable. The dive locations are 10/10! Between dives they take good care of you and you n the way back do some whale watching. Can’t wait to work with them again!

Really enjoyed my experience with Maui Diamond!! We did the two tank dive at Molokini Crater and Marty’s Reef. As a relatively new diver, I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first boat trip, but the crew was amazing. We did the Cathedrals boat dive and it was amazing. The crew was great, the dive was great. It's a little more pricy for the boat dives but honestly worth it between the full service offered, quality of staff, providing lunch/snacks. I would definitely do this dive again and with this company.

We had an awesome time on the Maui Diamond for our two tank dive.

Dave was the perfect guide for our dives at Cathedral One and Sergeant Major. The reefs were alive with black sea turtles, eels, and fish. The swim throughs of the Cathedral were fun and the site was interesting, especially the exit of the caverns. Dave was also kind enough to share his pics of the dive with us.

The boat was well equipped and the mates took great care of our equipment during set up, change over and breakdown.

This was the second time that we dove with this outfit and will definitely not be the last! Thank you Maui Diamond for a great day and see you next year!!

Went on dives for three consecutive days with this group and my family. We have nothing but positive words for the overall experience. We appreciated the generous accommodations and sharp attentiveness to our requests. Our divemasters were quite knowledgeable of the sport and dive sites we visited. The diving itself was fantastic! Some of the best diving I’ve ever done in terms of aquatic life and water quality. Our trips even doubled as whale watching opportunities because of the time of year (January)!! Every time we come to Maui, Maui Diamond is our #1 dive company. Their boat is comfortable and well set up for the number of divers, and having a restroom on board is a big plus.

The dive masters are extremely knowledgeable, and you can truly tell they love what they do. Dave, in particular, makes the dive briefings fun and comical, which really adds to the experience.

They also provide snacks, beverages, and lunch, which is always appreciated. As always, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely dive with them again when we return to Maui.

As a 57yo newbie, diving with Maui Diamond Sea Sports was hands-down the best dive experience for me to date in my short time. We dove 1/12 at Māʻalaea (Mali) Pier and Pali, and 1/14 at First Cathedral and Sergeant Major, and every single dive was exceptional from start to finish.

The entire team is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. From detailed briefings to calm, confident guidance underwater, they made every diver feel safe, supported, and excited—no matter experience level. We had such a great experience on the Lanai Cathedrals trip with this amazing crew!! We've been diving on Maui for over 20 years now and prefer to go out of Kihei Boat Ramp because we live near there, but I would absolutely 100% recommend diving with this crew (out of Maalaea). They run an extremely safe, organized operation, do great dive briefings, and their dive guides know the ins and outs of each dive site. The boat is very comfortable and spacious. Snacks and drinks are provided. They also volunteer their time to do upkeep on local moorings, which benefits the greater public and other dive operations, which is yet another reason to support this great crew. Thanks for a couple of really great dives - we're excited to go out on this boat again soon!

After 6 boat dives in 3 days I have nothing but positive things to say about Maui Diamond. I have done a moderate amount of diving in many different locations around the world, and I really appreciate Maui Diamond as an experienced diver. 1) they allow each individual to come up on their own air consumption rather than the lowest of the group, allowing up to a 70 min dive. 2) they are a very professional crew with incredible experience in their dive masters who found some incredible sea life. 3) if you dive with the dive masters “Dave” he takes pictures that are far more incredible than my own, and openly shares them (air drop for iPhone users). 4) they have great snacks and a warm shower between dives. 5) they are safe and yet don’t sacrifice the quality of the dive.

Without a doubt, I will look to come back to their crew and dive more… it was a great experience!!!

Great dive boat, finally went out to cathedrals after many failed attempts (other companies seem to have a very low threshold to cancel/divert to closer dive sites.) It was a cool dive and we had a pod of dolphins visit during our safety stop! I also really appreciated the very thorough pre-briefing by captain Ben - I don’t think I’ve ever been taught how to use the emergency radio, been provided the coastguard frequency or been taught how the emergency beacon works in a general dive briefing. They also lent me some hot packs for the second dive which was very much appreciated. I would definitely dive with this company again!

We dove cathedral 2 and sgt major and did some whale watching along the way there and back. No dive services in Hawaii are cheap and these guys are no exception, but the guides are phenomenal, the boat organization is better than anything I have ever experienced and so as a result despite having a full trip, we never felt crowded or uncomfortable on the vessel. The food was great, the people were great. The captain had a corny line for everything and is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Incredibly safe and well run operator!

Diving with Maui Diamond to Molokini Crater was an unforgettable experience. The team was wonderful right from the start! Safety was their top priority and concern! They accommodate every level of diver and made you feel like you were part of their “family” for the dives!

Highly recommend this dive site! The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and made everyone feel comfortable and safe. The operation is well organized and suitable for all diving levels, from beginners to experienced divers. As an added bonus, we stopped to watch dolphins and whales, which made the trip even more special. I would absolutely dive with them again and recommend them to anyone. The views can’t be beat!

They were absolutely awesome!!we had an amazing time! They explained everything clearly, including what we might see, what we would be doing, and how deep we’d go, which was perfect as a refresher since we hadn’t scuba dived in a while. The ride out was beautiful, we saw lots of whales and dolphins!
We did a two-tank dive and I definitely recommend it. Both dives were incredible. The crew was super cool, and he even took photos of us and sent them for free!

I did a two tank dive with my daughters on 12/16/25 with this company. We had a wonderful experience. The captain picked the dive sites and picked great ones. The crew was fabulous, very friendly and knowledgeable, took the time to explain the dive sites to make sure we were comfortable, told us in advance what we were likely to see and after the dive talked about what we saw. This enhanced our experience. The dive master was amazing a finding things under water and pointing them out, clearly cared about us having a good time. They had nice snacks and drinks for us in between dives. They really made it a first class experience. I have used four different dive companies on Maui in the past two years, this company was by far the best. Highly recommend, they care about their customers. I will use them again in the future.

Had a great time doing two boat tours with Maui Diamond: Malukini and Cathedral. Boat was clean; crew very professional, helpful, and fun. A bonus was that on both trips the captain would stop and take us on a mini whale watching detour. Definitely recommend, and also appreciated the photos Dave took of us!

Me and my brother dove the molokini crater. It was amazing we saw sharks, rays, eels, and could even hear the humpback whales singing. The crew was amazing and truly took everything into consideration. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Hopped on the Maui Diamond to dive the south side of Lanai for the first time. The experience was outstanding. Got to explore Cathedral 1 and a drift starting at the Monolith. We saw dolphins, rays, and got to watch a giant eel eat a dead octopus. Wonderful weather, snacks, and a great crew. An altogether amazing day!

We went for a last minute diving with Maui Diamond (at Molokini crater) and had a wonderful time. The crew is knowledgeable and friendly, special thanks to our dive guide Joe. We’ve seen a shiver of sharks and a fever of eagle rays, along with some lobsters and eels. Also stoped briefly for whale watching on our way back. Will dive with them again in the future.

Just went diving with these guys again. Can’t say enough good things about them. Super professional and fun staff, and they get all the little things right. Right as you come out of the water on every dive they spray you with warm fresh water and it feel so relaxing. It also goes without saying that we had whales and dolphins swim under our boat, swam through a half dozen lava tubes etc. etc.

Wonderful experience Diving with this very professional crew. So far we’ve done double back wall on Molokini, and a second trip out to Lanai.

I appreciate that they are conscientious, that the boat is very clean, even the Marine toilet is clean. But what really was extra appreciated today was that they had a little underwater heat packs (rechargeable heat packs that could be tucked into the wetsuit.)
So thoughtful. Even when I wear my 7 mm wet suit with a skin under it, I’m still cold. Yes I should’ve worn a hood. Next time. But meanwhile, I enjoyed the thoughtfulness of offering heat packs. The Guide noticed under the water that I was called, as another diver also was called, and handed us heat packs.

In 23 years of Diving no one’s ever done that.

Also, Captain Don’s dad jokes were appreciated. Endless supply, with good timing.

Maui Diamond is amazing! Captain Steve took us out to the cathedrals and we had two incredible dives with Nick showing us the way. The team did a great job accommodating throughout the trip, aided by the small group size. The dive brief was very informative and we barely had to lift a finger getting geared up since Beth led the charge setting everything up for us. We were the only boat at second cathedral which made for an even better experience. And as a bonus, we saw two whales en route back to Maui early in the season - we couldn’t have had a better day!

Definitely a 5-star review for Maui Diamond! We spent 3 days diving with them & did Molokini Crater, Lanai Cathedrals and Mala Pier. Mala Pier is one of my top dives of my lifetime with the turtles, sharks and critters. The crew on the boat at Maui Diamond are top-notch, total professionals, very knowledgeable and fun. I felt safe and taken care of. They took photos and videos of dolphins on the bow and of us diving and gave us all the pictures for free instead of trying to charge us for them like most dive shops would. Highly recommend if you are diving in Maui that you go with these folks. They are absolutely amazing and make your scuba diving perfect. So glad we selected them for our diving adventures.

The took time between dives to try and find dolphin pods and whales and Dave took pictures of the dolphins and pics underwater and gave them to all of us! The Mala Pier dive is one of the best dives i’ve ever done!

First nice thing is that the staff is very relaxed and really takes time for all your questions and to make you comfortable. We are not very experienced and did not dive for 10 months. After the briefing from Don we only had to jump in the water and all the tension was gone. We had Wonderfull dive in the Molokini crater and a chill dive at a second location. Inbetween we saw dolphins swimming underneath the tip of the boat and a humpback whale but quite far away. I can really recommend you to dive with Maui Diamond Sea Sports

I had a great time diving yesterday on the Maui Diamond. We were supposed to dive Lana’i Cathedrals but we rerouted to Molokini Crater and Red Hill due to wind and conditions. We still had a great day with 2 diverse dives! They were flexible and communicative about the change of plans in the days leading up to the dive.

Our captain was Don and my DM was Dave. Dave did a great job giving dive briefings and keeping us safe underwater and at the surface. He also went above and beyond helping me set up my kit to make sure it was in good shape for both dives.

Both dives were drift dives / live drops, which I was a little surprised by since I’m used to having a mooring line, but the crew handled everything well and safety was emphasized. My group had 4 divers and I know it can be a gamble but we all happened to align pretty perfectly on air consumption and ability.

I found Maui Diamond off a Reddit thread and I’m happy I booked with them. I would definitely come back for future trips!

Capt. John took us out to the Lanai Cathedrals. Good captain, great positive attitude and sense of humor, while prioritizing safety and patiently navigating some questionable conditions to give the best experience possible. Great crew, too, they really seem to like what they do and enjoy having people onboard. The boat design is nice, too. Able to fit quite a bit of divers onboard without feeling crowded. Diving Lanai was an amazing experience.

If you bring your own gear, note that they have a weird process- they take your gear from you in the parking lot, then they set your gear up for you. Then you board the boat at the docks and depart immediately. With a crowd of people milling around, it’s a bit disconcerting to have a someone disappear with your gear in the midst of mayhem. I really don’t trust strangers to set up my gear for a lot of reasons. I would 100% go diving with these guys again, but I would have to talk to them about them letting me set up my own gear.

Spent three days diving on the Maui Diamond with Captain Ben and guides Don, Joe, and Dave. We had some weather, but Captain Ben stayed on top of it and kept us safe while still finding great spots. The crew was friendly, organized, and helpful between dives, with clear briefings and easy entries and exits. Awesome experience all around. I highly recommend and I’m already looking forward to a return trip.

The only dive boat based in a harbor! Captains were great, especially when we did live drops and pick ups. Crew were very friendly and helpful. Very accommodating to help me get back on the boat by taking my gear up for me. New knees don't like the weight going up a ladder. Plus, we were always in the #1 group! Maui Diamond boat is able to handle 20 divers and crew easily. Water and sodas, home made banana bread. Eat the one with chocolate chips :-)
Plenty of snacks.
We did 5 days of diving with Maui Diamond. All dives done in a different area. More turtles than big fish! Dolphins played by the boat for a few minutes. The biggest frog fish was Dave! Great impression of one.
Safety is first priority.

Maui Diamond Sea Sports provided a great experience. I did two days with them, the Lanai Cathedrals by far the best. Boat was an awesome experience. The entire crew was friendly and extremely helpful, rinsing fear at end of dives was a very nice touch. Call outs to Dave and Brian, my DMs for the two days, great job on showing all the cool sites. Luke and Don as our captains, getting us there and back with no issues. Beth and Kim as excellent deck hands. I dive a lot on the east coast, this was by far the best charter experience I have had.

This was my first, yet not my last, dive w Maui Diamond. The entire crew worked hard so divers had an awesome experience. David was dive master of my group. He made certain questions were answered, concerns addressed and he was very qualified for the job. The Maui Diamond is officially my favorite dive boat on island! From the moment you pull up to the slip, you can feel the enthusiasm from the staff. They definitely love to be on the water! The Diamond itself lives up to its name. The boat is beautiful and clean and up top is an area that you can sit near the captain and see everything. The views are absolutely stunning. They provide little bins to keep your belongings in. I brought a small backpack and towel and they fit perfectly.

Diving is so much more fun when your crew is lively and excited to dive. Beth was so helpful with gear and questions, and she continuously checked in asking if I needed anything or wanted any snacks. She’s so sweet! Dave, my guide, was so fun. He was charismatic and funny during his dive briefing and didn’t skip out on safety. He was happy to show critters underwater and even shared his pictures that he took during the dive at the end. I didn’t miss out on the memories even though I forgot my camera.

If you’re a diver coming to Maui and you don’t get on the Diamond, you are absolutely missing out. Such a fun experience and I can’t wait to get back underwater with them! Mahalo Nui Maui Diamond!

First class dive from start to finish! We did a 2 tank dive to Molokini Crater and Nahuna Spine on Maui. Most of the divers were experienced with the exception of a few beginners. David did a great job of comforting the beginner in my group and kept a watchful eye on her making it an awesome experience for her as well. I would definately dive with them again!

These guys are a 5 star professional crew from top to bottom. Their dive site selection is awesome and with the first dive being the “premiere” dive site (we did Molokini Crater) and the second dive site being very cool but a little more chill (Red Hill was awesome). They have an amazing system of getting all of your gear ready for you whether you’re using their gear or theirs, they set you up at a specific “station” and give you bins to hold all of your gear to keep it organized and from getting wet. They do safety briefings for departure, en route, and before starting the dive, and their guides were knowledgeable and very professional. They had slates to write out what fish species we were seeing and they briefed us on what we might see before getting in the water. They had snacks and drinks on board, a bathroom with a sink, and the boat was very large and gave you multiple spots to sit and enjoy the ride out and back from all different angles.

And when it came time to come into Harbor, the caption (I think his name was Ben) whipped that boat into the spot without even thinking twice. It was truly impressive.

Long story short, these guys are very good at what they do, they are knowledgeable but still fun and laid back, and you always feel like you’re on good hands. 5 stars across the board. And shoutout to our guide Don, who was a really nice guy and got us on some amazing finds at the bottom.

We had the BEST TIME with Maui Diamond! Beautiful first dive at Molokini crater full of life. Loved the pyramid and pennant butterflies on the drop off and our dive guide Dave found the coolest frogfish and a few blue dragon nudibranchs! We also saw a freckled snake eel and a grey reef shark cruised by. Our second dive was a drift dive at red hill and definitely did NOT disappoint. Dave found SO many fun critters for us to see including a dragon moray, jeweled anemone crab, frogfish after frogfish, nudibranchs, sponge crab, devil scorpion fish and of course we were blessed with a huge turtle! If you are on Maui you should DEFINITELY book with Maui Diamond to have a great day with gorgeous dives. Captain Luke was amazing on the helm picking us all up from our drift dive with safety and ease. He was such a badass parking the boat in the wind too! The crew made sure we had plenty of snacks and drinks and also fish ID books on board to identify all the fun sea life we saw! Highly recommend! 10/10!

Starting with the office girls you will talk to when you call:

Rachel and Beth. Exceptional. There have been a lot of changes to the safety waivers and what you are responsible to provide as a diver. If you’ve sneezed in the last 12 months you may need a Dr. release. Hyperbole, but not far off and this is the standard for diving now. Both girls were EXTREMELY knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. Made the jumping through hoops to dive a lot easier. Friendly, engaging and full of the “Aloha” spirit. Even handed me off to another company for a dive I wanted and they didn’t provide. Exceptional customer service.

The dives were an excellent as well. Booked another dive with them as the staff on the boat were equally as good. Captain Ben, Brian, Davex2 and Joe. Fun, accommodating and very safe. The attention to safety was refreshing and appreciated after diving outside the US. Ask Dave to tell jokes between dives. Hilarious. As for “salad” jokes.

Maui Diamond will get my business every time I dive here. Best dive company I’ve worked with in the 30+ years I’ve been diving.

Maui Diamond is what we choose to scuba dive. It’s the best boat with caring captains and crews. We live on Maui.
Pristine and natural Lanai is where we love to dive.
The dive masters lead small groups of 5-6.
Capt. Steve finds two dive sites sheltered from choppy, rough waves. Sharkfin is a pinnacle of lava rock. So many tropical fishes dance around it, eerie eels, scorpion fish raw-red.
We drift dive @ Barge Harbor after repeated, clear safety instructions. We see wondrous marine creatures: two fat eels with heads poking and mouths biting the water, banded angel fish endemic and rare, ghost shrimp, streams of yellow taape, fluttering butterfly fish flotillas. Treasures like the tiddy-bitty nudibranches with lacey flounces and radiant colors are revealed by our dive masters. The third cathedral may be smaller but the feeling is sacred.
On the boat, our dive masters cater to us with snacks, banana bread, soft drinks, and croissant sandwiches!
DMs set up the diving gear. They breakdown and wash our own stuff, too.
We’re the Diving Grammas…retired teachers. We love the Maui Diamond.

When choosing a dive shop, I look for competence, safety, and hope to get a crew that is fun and warm. Maui Diamond exceeded my expectations in all respects.

Beth was super friendly and accommodative, helped me get a last minute seat on the boat. I called her so many times to check for a spot and I was grateful for her patience and warmth on the phone. On board, she was genuinely excited to have me dive and this made me feel really welcome and was a great start to the trip.

Crew was great and professional. Took procedures and briefings seriously and ensured everyone understood safety measures in place. I felt safe diving with them. The equipment was in great shape.

The dive itself was great. Lanai Cathedrals is an underwater lava tube - so lots of caves to go through. Can be a bit intimidating if you’re a brand new diver with poor buoyancy control. We saw a huge school of dolphins chase our boat which was super fun and set the tone for our second dive.

It’s a long boat ride (90+ mins each way) so something to watch out for if you get sea sick. Also group sizes tend to be large (we had 21 on our boat, 7 per dive master). But Maui only has a couple of boat diving options left after the fires - so this is standard unless you’re going to charter a boat.

Nick was rad, very knowledgeable and we all had a great safe dive both in Molokini and Makena Bay. I loved that he was able to coordinate when other divers were low on air they could safely return to the boat and the rest of us could stay down longer, such a luxury when this is potentially a once in a lifetime trip for many. Booked a 2 tank dive, Beth was very accommodating with rescheduling due to low numbers. The entire crew was awesome! Ernie was our guide and showed us cool spots and got us into all the fish, sharks and even saw an octopus cruising around.

Dove with these guys in March of 2024. Didn’t think to review the experience as I was a new diver at the time. Now with 70+ dives in five different countries (French Polynesia, Maldives, Fiji, Mexico, HI/FL) I feel obligated to share my experience.

This place was hands down the worst dive outfit I’ve ever dove with. Assembly line packed boat of ~30 divers pre-departure took an hour to checkin and verify docs. Plus 30 min safety brief full of pervy dad jokes to even get on the boat. Dives were with people of all mixed experience levels and typically eight divers to one guide. Our guide was too busy chasing other divers. Pretty much dove by myself the whole time and kept loose track of the group. People floating to the surface, dive guide legit disappeared several times. I wish I would have just rented gear and shore dove somewhere else on the island for notably less. Was somewhere $125-140/tank which I more than I pay for long range dives on other Hawaiian islands. Would not dive with them again. Just skip and go snorkel somewhere. I promise you’ll have a nicer time.

Maui Diamond ranks as my #1 dive charter on Maui. Professional service all around from front office to dive staff, all great dm's (DM Dave is awesome), and safety focused without treating every diver like a new diver. Dives were 60 minutes or longer, there was room to explore without having to be right next to each other, dives were never rushed, lots of snacks and drinks. The boat is comfortable, clean, and roomy. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or experienced diver you will enjoy great service and diving with Maui Diamond. Fyi, they don't have a storefront but respond promptly to calls and emails.

I’ve dived twice (so far) with Maui Diamond on their trips to Lanai. The entire crew was awesome. This is an extremely professional operation with captains and guides (like David, Dave, Nick, Beth and so many others) who are passionate about diving and devoted to assuring their guests have every opportunity to share that passion. Plus, the boat we had was perfectly designed. Plenty of space for divers, ample dry storage and really good banana bread and sandwiches. I’ve dived with dozens of companies and rank Maui Diamond among the best.

Absolutely unforgettable 2-tank dive at Molokini Crater! We brought our three boys (18, 16, and 13), all newly certified divers who had just earned their certifications a few weeks before our Maui trip. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew’s energy, experience and warmth set the tone for the day.

Our dive master, Ernie, was nothing short of exceptional—patient, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided our boys through every step, making them feel confident and comfortable in the water. The moment we descended, we were surrounded by crystal-clear blue, schools of colorful reef fish, and coral gardens that looked like something out of an aquarium .

Between dives, the captain and crew kept the atmosphere light and fun, sharing tips, stories, and a genuine passion for the ocean. Watching our kids surface grinning ear-to-ear after their very first ocean dives is a memory we’ll treasure forever.

Five stars aren’t enough—this team made our first family dive in Maui truly magical. We hope to be back again soon!

The Maui Diamond Team really makes this a special experience and because of them, this is the second time we have dove with Maui Diamond on our trips to Maui. The first time we dove with Maui Diamond our sons did discovery dives and they were hooked due to the enthusiasm of our captain and dive masters. We returned this year to find the same level of excellence. The knowledge of all the staff and love for what they do shines. The upbeat engaging instructions and introductions from Captain Don to the briefings and care of all of the dive masters. Today we did a two tank dive to Cathedrals of Lani. It is so worth it. The boat is sizable and room to spread out for the crossing. Other amenities on the Maui Diamond are excellent- gear, very comfortable ladders good for rough seas, lots of snacks and drinks (they joked they had a Costco aisle on the boat, they were right) and a clean, and for a marine head, a spacious bathroom. The crew also provided lunch since this was a 6 hour day. The dive masters before, during and after made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable, but most importantly a safe dive. Our Divemaster Nick was very patient on the first dive as we got acclimated. He found amazing creatures such as the largest species of Eel in the world and guided us through thousands of other species and corals. The Cathedrals dive is especially interesting because it has unique cavern like structures and lots of swim through that refract the light into many colors. The captain and dive masters all helped each other and engaged with all the divers for fun conversation, very grateful to Don, Nick, Beth, Dave and Ernie. Dave also is an avid underwater photographer and shared some great shots with all of us. We are very grateful. We have dove others in Maui and all over the world. They are the best in the business. I would recommend booking multiple days of diving with them if you are planning more than one day of diving while in Maui. I also would recommend them for snorkel and combined Scuba as well as discovery dives (those trying it out before being certified). Truly appreciate the amazing day!

My wife and 2 kids, 13 and 15, just got back from Maui, we went with the Maui Diamond, and it was excellent! We did 2 tank dives at the Lanai Cathedral 2 and Menpachi. Both dives were amazing! Brian was our dive master and he took very good care of us! The captain and the entire boat crew were amazing!! Highly recommend this company!! :) Loved the warm shower as we got out of the water.

Dove molokini crater today with this crew and they were amazing. Kim was the dive master for myself and my son and she took extra care of me since it was my first dive and I was especially nervous about ascending safely…she took the time to do it with me one on one and let me go without her on the second ascent. Amazing first diving experience with my 18 year old son😎

We went on the Molokini Crater and Cathedrals dives and both were excellent. The visibility in Molokini was incredible with so much to see and the Cathedrals were majestic, we made fantastic memories to treasure. The staff are what really made it, Brian was our guide on day one and Ernie on day two. Both my children are newly qualified divers and we felt in such safe hands with both guides, their experience shone through. Beth and Dave are also worth a special mention as such friendly and helpful staff. The boat was really well equipped with the latest diving gear and plenty of drinks and snacks. Such a wonderful experience on both days, would recommend to anyone.

Booked my scuba dive trip with Maui Diamond Sea Sport, was the best choice I made for my scuba trip to the Molikinu Crate in Maui, The trip was amazing, the boat is big, with drinks and snacks, the have everything planned and organize for you, you just show up, and scuba. Second year in a row of incredible diving with a great company. Friendly and professional staff. Comfortable layout. All of the gear we needed was provided. Great stock of snacks and drinks aboard this boat! Amazing memories were made!

Don was our guide this time and he was great! His briefings were professional and he was a great leader through both dives. Dave went around from group to group underwater and took photos of us in action. This was truly the highlight of our trip. It allowed us to focus on the diving without managing a camera.

We highly recommend Maui Diamond to anyone and everyone!

Spacious boat, great crew, all well organized, Nitrox is available.
Maui Diamond Sea Sports saved my trip to Maui.
Came to dive with different company that cancelled dives and was lucky enough to get spot on Maui Diamond, not once but on two different days.
Crew was very professional, put emphasis on safety, boat was stable, food was tasty, and as they advertise, they do try to spoil clients.
As a cherry on the top, we were lucky to encounter whale-shark, a rare sight that I will remember forever.
Needless to say, for my future trips I now know with whom to book Maui/Lanai diving.

Fantastic Boat with an amazing crew who loves what they’re doing and knows all the popular dives sites as well as some hidden gems. We picked a wildcard day and it was amazing. Captain Ben was super friendly and very thorough with the safety briefing. The dive team was well staffed and very organized. We had divemaster Don who was super chill, laid back, always smiling and very thorough on the dive briefings and provided a very clear picture of each dive site and the different things we might encounter at each dive site. If you’re looking for a unbeatable diving experience this is it!!

Highly recommend! The crew is a 10 and the divings are amazing, equipment and boat in perfect conditions. Moreover if you have a good air consumption the instructors will extend your dive and you are not forced to come back with your buddy / group.

Maui Diamond Sea Sports was awesome to dive and snorkel with. We chose an outfit whom would allow me to dive and my wife to snorkel. They were 100% professional and took us to the best dive spots in Maui, especially when weather turned and got in the way (Pali coast sites). We saw so much with them (Turtles, eels, octopus, so many fish, starfish, etc.) It was an absolutely epic adventure and would not have been so without Captain Ben whom took us up and beyond and David wrote out fish names underwater on his white board to educate. Very cool experience and I so HIGHLY recommend - I'm going to dive with them again!!!

Great dive experience with Michelle, Dave, and Crew from Maui Diamond. Equipment was in great shape and the boat had plenty of space for the group size. Used aluminum tanks to 3k psi, digital dive computer, normal BC and backup regs. We dove on the 13 June 2025 with the 1st dive down to around 80 to 90ft at Molokini Crater and the second dive at Pu'pu Olai cinder cone around 40-50ft. During the dive notable sealife included baby reef sharks, barcuda, eagle ray, lion fish, sponge crab, plenty of native Hawaiian fish and great coral. Thanks again for the great dive experience!

Fantastic dive guide team and boat ride. Friendly, personable, and professional. Great dive spots and safety briefings. I did two excursions (two different days). First was the Molokini Crater two tank dive. Second day was the Lani Cathedrals two tank dive. Molokini Crater visibility was great. Dive guide pointed out a frog fish and octopus, in addition to some small reef sharks swimming by. Cathedrals was a new experience for me, diving through the lava formations and seeing the rare black coral. Very cool! The second dive for both excursions was a drift dive along the shore rock walls, where we saw eels, turtles, and lots of variety of fish.

What a well organized top notch dive company everyone and everything was on point. I’ve been diving hundreds of times and it’s probably one of the nicest boats I’ve been on. It was a bit tight on space but everything was so organized and function extremely well my Dive Master Dave went above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing dive and I also took great pictures… I’m super careful with my air consumption and he took that into consideration and we had an extra long day while also making sure we were safe. We didn’t see a lot of things on our Dive* today, but he sure did a good job capturing what we did see I would definitely dive with this company again! Thanks _divewithdave_ for the photos
